Altruism Project

As part of IADT’s Applied Psychology course, all students are required to undertake a volunteering position.  This initiative is called the Altruism Project.  It allows students to both make a difference in a community while gaining experience in a field that they are interested in.

Irish Design 2015Irish Design 2015

As you may have gathered while perusing my portfolio, I have a keen interest in design.  Therefore I thought that volunteering with Irish Design 2015 would be a great opportunity to be immersed in the field.  I have been assisting by invigilating at the Design Hub in Dublin Castle.  This role involves welcoming visitors to the exhibit and offering information on any pieces that they are interested in.  I also help with accommodating tours of the exhibition.

SWICN Computer Clubhouse

I also hope to begin volunteering at the SWICN (South West Inner City Network) Computer Clubhouse in the near future.  This clubhouse provide a range of afterschool activities for children ranging from Coding to Music Production.  Unfortunately, as of the time of writing this, I am still waiting for my Garda Vetting to be processed.  I shall be sure to keep you up to date with my progress!
